Since launching in 2020, PodLP has brought podcasts to listeners who never had access to them before — people using $12 feature phones across India, Africa, Southeast Asia, and even the United States. Today, PodLP has been installed on well over 10 million devices in 175+ countries via the KaiStore, JioStore, Cloud Phone, and Android.

Sponsors have been part of that journey from the beginning. Sponsored listings on PodLP have offered podcasters a genuinely global reach across an underserved audience. Until now, campaigns were handled ad-hoc by email. Today, we’re launching the PodLP Sponsor Portal — a self-serve checkout at sponsor.podlp.app — to make the process simple and transparent.

We’ve published a new advertiser page, submitted v2.3.0.0 to the JioStore with support for the recently-released JioPhone Prima 4G, and are sharing behind the scenes updates optimizing the PodLP backend.

It’s designed and optimized for smart feature phones on tiny ~2" (~5cm) 240x320px screens and targets a global audience of largely first-time internet users. Given technical constraints and a unique audience, we’ve managed sponsorship scheduling and purchasing ad hoc.

PodLP joins 1% for the Planet, contributing at least 1% of annual sales to environmental organizations dedicated to protecting and preserving wild places.

About 1% for the Planet

One Percent for the Planet is an international organization whose members contribute at least one percent of their annual sales to environmental causes. The oranization was founded in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies.
